Legend of Legaia is a JRPG for the Sony PlayStation. It was released in 1998 in Japan, 1999 for North America, and 2000 for Europe. It was developed by Contrail and published by Sony.
10 years ago, the world was engulfed with an evil power called the Mist. The Mist turned powerful beings called Seru into vicious monsters and turned against humans. Vahn, Noa, and Gala, must work with special Seru known as Ra Seru to combat the Mist and the generators that create it.
Why It Rocks
- Unlike most turn based RPGs, this game used a tactical arts system, allowing gamers to input commands such as striking with the left or right arm and high and low for height. Depending on the enemy the input commands can deal major damage, low damage or no damage at all.
- The game generates combos for the input and certain inputs generate certain moves called "Arts", allowing for more hits and damage. The Arts require points in an action bar. The stronger the Art, the more it costs. Defending allows the bar to raise up.
- As more Genesis Trees revive, the Ra-Seru grow in power to increase the damage they can inflict.
- Defeating Seru can allow the Ra-Seru to absorb their essence and use magic.
The game has a rating of 4.05 out of 5 in GameFAQs.
